A photo of an eerie jellyfish alluding to a quake lay in ambush for me at a website yesterday. This evening my wife said that a 7.1 aftershock occurred one month before an anniversary. Indeed, this series of quakes persists as if it were volcanic.

"This is an interesting topic found in the BBC online news today". The following are my comments on it:
The imposition of taxes on the sources of pollution including greenhouse gases at an appropriate tax rate sounds reasonable. Although the legislation of the taxation on enormous volumes of both exhalation from the lungs and belching from the stomachs of rampaging bulls in old industries seems to be quite hard, it's meaningful. The emissions of pollution from every source should be rendered transparent.
However, the imposition of heavy taxes on greenhouse gases in a nation may lead to the acceleration in the expansion of old industries' operations into developing overseas, where there is no such taxation. If this sort of taxation on carbon emissions can be imposed globally, there would be every reason to expect a successful reduction in carbon emissions.

Probably, either German-Americans or other Americans have been hanging around our house this evening. One of the aforementioned Asian ultraconservatives who might have plenty of confidence in their powers of memory but have poorer ability in both logic and imagination asked them to do that for some reason. This time, the aforementioned blackmailers might be on vacation from a trick.

A sudden failure of Earthlink's Internet connection at our house discommoded my wife and me this evening. The Internet service at our house hasn't been reconnected by the end of today. This is one of Asian ultraconservatives' usual measures.

Thursday, July 14, 2011
Got up at seven forty-five in the morning. Ate a bowl of noodle soup for lunch, and a dish of stir-fried rice wrapped in an omelet for dinner.

Early this morning, after wasting my time on the fake problem in Earthlink's Internet connection at our house over the telephone with one of its customer services for about one hour, Earthlink stopped being a nuisance at last. Because of the heavily accented English of the customer service, understanding his instructions to reset the modem was rather annoying. In this way of doing, an Internet provider can be a blackmailer.

Severe struggles on the monkeys' and apes' (baboon, macaque in hot springs, drunken orangutan, chimpanzee, and gorilla) mountain extended over the non-hierarchical societies where there used to be rigid hierarchies may be the cause of those nonsense acts around us, my wife said after getting inspiration from several topics found on the websites for the last few months. My interpretation of a series of those topics is that a baboon represents a European in non-hierarchical societies and/or a majority American, and a macaque represents an East Asian. Who a macaque in hot springs specifically represents is obvious. It's a Japanese. Probably, the hidden main message of those topics is that only the controlled leadership struggle rarely occurs in a class society, different from an ape's mountain overseas. It's a British-style jest, isn't it?
A topic today tells that because being an alpha baboon on the monkeys' mountain is stressful due to frequent occurrences of troublesome defiance against him, accepting a 2nd in command is beneficial, especially for a nice guy. The other recent topic reports that, if a 2nd is capable and ambitious, a chief baboon can kick a 2nd out rather easily depending on the situation. Being a 2nd isn't always safe.
Being a 2nd may be comfortable when he is capable but modest. You may say that such a modest nice guy seldom gets even a 2nd position. Probably, a modest nice guy has to come across a great chief who can recognize his value and character.
Well, it seems that neither of them is a golden rule to be successful.

Phone hacking should be illegal, especially when it's conducted by the private sector or against a person who isn't a suspect in terrorism.

Needless to say, computer hacking should also be illegal when it's conducted by a private sector or against a person who isn't a suspect in terrorism. There is a necessity for maintaining strict control over any phone, computer, and account hacking by foreign third parties commissioned by phone companies, providers, and banks, except for issues related to national security. Allowing an overseas third party to see and manipulate the account seems to be risky because of the lack of thoroughness in the international law ruling infringements of privacy and leakages of personal information.

Following a give-and-take trade connected to two courts of justice (?) for the last two weeks, a fictional play in a foreign field took place recently, and another strange play in a foreign court just started. Those cheap shows suitable for a tabloid looked as if those shows had been scripted to raise the popularities of seniority, a hereditary system, and Asian females among peoples in the Americas and Asia mainly while dragging those of innovative influences down. A scenario writer wearing a pair of eyeglasses may still prefer an old-fashioned team of an old dictator and his female propagandists to a newer team of bean sprouts, though a typical former team failed a few years ago.
Unfortunately, a series of those shows may also be associated with the rights and interests of a source of energy these days, by implication. A true target of a scenario writer may be the acquisition of rights and interests of a source of energy in exchange for some of the trivial and branded matters that are under its control. A group of the smurfs has been waiting for their coming to the middle ground in southern Asia impatiently. However, for some reason or other, an incident plotted by another scenario writer or the same made today's show rather comical by adding the essence of a brawl often seen in a comedy show, a riotous session of the Diet in Asia, or professional wrestling.
Instead of those trifling shows, my wife and I would like to enjoy some good dramas written by Euripides or Shakespeare at the Ancient Theatre of Epidauros or the Globe Theatre. We profoundly prefer both fair play and fair judgment in an actual field. In the court of justice, naturally, a fair judgment must be vital.

An inept medical doctor is one of the most terrible existences in the world. As written previously, an unskillful treatment for my #7 tooth by an inept dentist brought on some troubles to me in Japan about three decades ago. Since that treatment, there have sometimes been some cuts and abrasions to a part of my upper lip near the #7 tooth. The symptoms became worse when I moved to the US in 1997 because of dry weather conditions in Texas. The troublesome tooth had also led to a slight nosebleed from my right nostril and a slight swelling at the tip of my nose sometimes in dry air during winter until recently. After my original #7 tooth was extracted and replaced by an artificial tooth in the spring of 2008, however, all of the above mentioned problems related to my #7 tooth disappeared completely. Currently, there is no other serious problem left in my teeth. The photo below was taken at home about five years before the extraction of my troublesome #7 tooth.
It's been a long time since the increase in the number of inept doctors whose parents paid a pile of their money and exploited their contacts in order to have the second generations obtain a doctor's license and whose patrons supported obtaining a doctor's license in order to forward the human rights movements, regardless of the absence of a natural talent for it, had become an issue of public concern.
Finding a good doctor is important for everybody. In general, the necessity for finding a good doctor reliably increases with age. It's quite natural for a man forty-five or older to be interested in this sort of topic. People of today still have to rely mostly on word-of-mouth information to find a good doctor. In terms of this task, currently, even the search engine on the Internet seems to be powerless because the medical community as a whole is well protected.

"This is an interesting topic found in the Reuters online news today". The following are my comments on it:
A right-wing extremist in the West committed this fiendish crime today. In history, extremists in religions and political beliefs having social discontent have repeatedly used acts of terrorism in order to advance their aims. In some cases, their extreme idealism made extremists underrate the importance of law and order. In other cases, their extreme loyalties for a religion, an idea, and a nation pushed extremists to do that. Unfortunately, extremists irrationally regarded their vicious crimes as trifling matters in view of the great undertakings involved. Such extreme idealism and loyalty are dangerous.

Political and religious extremisms with slighting of law and order are quite dangerous. Needless to say, however, not all predispositions to having a passion for delving very deeply into a proposition are dangerous. A person aged a certain number of years and above with a balanced personality may engage in a thorough investigation of truth in some academic fields safely. The studies in frontier science, leading-edge technology, and other fields come under these categories. For instance, the pursuit of the ultimate truths about the universe, like a theory of elementary particles, a unified field theory, and a cosmology, might be classified as an extreme attempt in the academic fields, but it's harmless as far as other peoples with a sick mind in politics and industries don't misuse its results.

As written previously, the world that is advancing towards the future while carrying billions of people should have both a good driving system and a good braking system, as an excellent vehicle should. A speed reduction by applying the brakes on the basis of ethics and as part of administrations having a global and long-term point of view is necessary. However, it should be emphasized that a speed reduction on the basis of only the conveniences of the conservatives is unfavorable.
My favorite stance is slightly right of center, as mentioned previously. It's neither far right nor far left.

Very intense heat and drought here have recently caused a somewhat harmful effect on the lawn condition in our yards. Therefore, the sprinkling frequency of the automatic lawn sprinkler for our yards was readjusted in order to take the watering both early in the morning and late in the evening every Thursday and Sunday. It seems that the previous watering frequency of once a day and two days a week isn't enough when the maximum temperature daily reaches above 100 degrees F and the rainfall is very little. The watering frequency of twice a day and two days a week, which still fulfills the stage 1 water use rules that are currently in effect, may be appropriate. Because the time for a sprinkling was reduced to 75% of what it was previously and the frequency of the sprinkling per day was double what it was, the current amount of water used for the sprinklings per week is 1.5 times as large as the previous amount.

A tightly fitted jacket with a narrower lapel width below 3" (e.g. 2.5", 2.0") used to be in fashion in the 50s and the 60s, and it's again in the present day. A pair of trousers with a plain front became popular with it. It seems that both a tightly fitted jacket and a tightly fitted trouser tend to be widely favored in and post time of a long war or a long recession. On the other hand, in the 80s and the 90s, both a loosely fitted jacket with a wider lapel width above 3.5" (e.g. 4.0") and a trouser with double pleats were popular.
My choice is a pair of a comfortably fitted jacket with a lapel width of either 3.25" or 3.5" and a comfortably fitted trouser with single pleats.
